How Do I View/Update Grade Settings?

RecDesk automatically calculates a member's Grade by determining their Age on the current date, taking into account:

  1. The age a member must be on or before a certain date to be eligible for Kindergarten; and
  2. The month and day a member gets rolled up (graduates) to the next grade.

This information is set and updated under the Admin Settings of RecDesk.

Note: An individual member's Grade can be adjusted manually by administrative staff; see How do I Create or Edit a Member Account?

  Click Admin, then Settings. Then, scroll down to the Grade Settings section.

Viewing/Updating Grade Settings

  1. Click on the Edit button next to Kindergarten Start
    • Enter the Age a member must be to start Kindergarten in the majority of cases;
    • Select the Month and Day the member must be that age by in order to start Kindergarten;
  2. Click Save.
  3. Click the Edit button next to Grade Rollup
    • Select the Month and Day students will roll up to the next grade during the current school year;
  4. Click Save.

  Notes:

  • The default Kindergarten Start Age is 5 as of 9/1 and the Grade Rollup occurs automatically and defaults to 6/30 unless edited.
  • Grades cannot be updated by Community members.
  • Grades can be hidden from Community Members. Please email support@recdesk.com to request this change. Please Note - Grades will still show on the Director (admin side) of RecDesk if they are hidden to Community members.
