Overview
In this article you will learn how to combine duplicate members into one. If you wish to move a member from one account to another, see How do I move a Member to a different household?
Before You Start
Determine which two members have a duplicate account. Open the account that you wish to merge away from. That account will be combined/merged with the account you select later in the process.
From the Dashboard, click on the Member tab and perform a member search by last name.
Merging a Member into another Member:
- Click on the member name and scroll down to the bottom of the member profile;
- Click on the Member Actions drop-down;
- Click on the Merge this Duplicate Member with Another button;
- Enter the first few characters of the last name of the member being merged into;
- Click on the member to be merged into;
- Click Merge Now.
Tips:
- If both profiles are single and have online login credentials, it is important to merge the OLDEST profile (with a lower Internal Id) INTO the NEWEST one (with the higher Internal Id).
- If one profile has online login credentials (seen at the bottom of the member profile) and the other does not, it's best to merge INTO the profile with the login credentials, since that is the profile the customer set up on the RecDesk Community site
- When one member profile is connected to other household members and the other is not, it's best to merge INTO the household with other members.
Notes:
- Merging is a permanent action, so be sure to pay careful attention to the profiles you are selecting.
- Only Assistant Directors and Director level employees can merge duplicate accounts.
- Household Credit balances transfer on member merges if the "from" member is the only person in the household.
- Member information will be saved from member merged into; however, Member Id and Log In credentials will be brought forward if member merged into does not have them.
