Overview
In this article, you'll learn which type of credit card readers work with RecDesk. (Note: Canadian Clients should please reach out to your Customer Success Manager before making any purchase)
Credit Card Readers that Work with RecDesk
The following payment processors allow any standard USB triple-track magnetic card reader. It must be a reader that supports Keyboard Emulation (KBE).
- Authorize.net
- Point & Pay
- Interware
- Stripe - Only for existing Stripe account holders. This is not a processor you can establish a new connection with.
- Clover Connect - for non-EMV credit card transactions. For EMV (chip) reader transactions, NFC Payments (i.e. Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.), and Tap to Pay Payments, see below.

Clover Connect is our only payment processor that supports EMV readers which support EMV (chip) reader transactions, NFC Payments (i.e. Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.), and Tap to Pay Payments. Additionally, EMV Chip Readers can only be purchased/leased directly from Clover Connect. For more information and options, please contact your Clover Connect Representative.
